How it all began!
On my 24th birthday in 1977 a frend gave me a Voigtlander folding camera as a present. I was into technique , and was amazed by this little thing (which I still own). So I started to get interested in collecting these type of cameras, which were widely available in the UK, Like all collectors I started to pick up anything that crossed my path. After several years I joined the Dutch Camera Collectors Club, and I am still a member of the Photographica club in the Netherlands.
Collecting a lot of cameras and lenses you eventually sell some of them. Making me traveling around the world for 30 years in pursuit of these little jewels. On my way making contacts and meeting wonderful people that collect photographic items. My main interest was and still is the maker Olympus. They were situated with their Dutch headquarters in Rotterdam. I often visited them for advice and parts and more. The importer was the firm Fodor which I had good connections with. I have bought a few transparent models from them which I still own.
Founded in 1998.
In 1998 I made a business of selling optical equipment, and starting to do some service on the Olympus OM System. The service of these cameras died out at the end of the last millennium as many other brands. So I started to service a wide range of cameras. Through the years I have seen a wide range of photographic equipment. Buying and selling whole collections. I service a lot of them. When an item comes in we check and clean them. Nothing is so bad then buying an item with the dirt of a former owner on it. In the last millennium cameras were sold at camera shows (I have visited many of them) But the internet now has changed everything. Viewing pictures on your screen can often be different to the real item. I make a point of trying to describe the items as accurate as possible. And making pictures that are as good as possible, without making them better than they are. All the equipment is cleaned and checked that it is working correctly. When needed (and we have them in store) damaged parts are replaced with good parts. Making a collection of cameras and lenses takes a lot of effort. But the results can be very satisfying.
I buy and sell used and new photographic equipment. From a small single filter to whole collections.
By browsing the categories you will find many usable and hard to find items from camera-lenses-instruction-accessories and flashes and so on. By adding items to your shopping cart you can easily see how much they will cost, and you can always ask for a discount for larger orders. You are of course covered in the same way as on Ebay in that if you feel if an item is incorrectly described then we shall refund in full which is why repeat customs is such a huge part of our business and of course payment protection is included.
To enable ease of use we have continued to use paypal to help with payment method and furthermore some forms like Ideal, Sofortbanking , Giropay and Mistercash/Bankcontact . In Europe we take bank transfers so the costs are lower than other payment methods.
The selection we offer on this site can be ranging from a small accessory to a nice set with lenses.
Growing from a hobby to a busines.
I started out as a collector and eventually made it a business. We all start with buying everything until we find we have to many pieces, and need to sell some items. I found this so interesting and had a lot of tables on different camera shows in Europe. Through this process I have handled many photographic pieces. This resulted in a good stock and a large database of items. If you need any advice in selling or buying items, you can always contact me. I did sell a lot on Ebay but due to the flood of power sellers making ebay far from usable for many buyers I have taken on board requests to move a lot of our business onto this website to give the opportunity of multiple item purchases in the same way we used to on ebay with the same cross section of different products to give many possible choices. As items are all fixed priced this means there is not the” lottery of winning an auction” and we have found the costumer prefers to be able to buy an item immediately and easily. We are always open on offers on our products and will ship multiple items for low costs. During our time on Ebay we have built up a solid reputation and a faithful following group of satisfied customers. We reckon that we can that that the prices of our products are value for money.
I also run the website “WesellYourCollection”, this is a platform to sell your collection of any kind, At this moment we start to sell a Topcon collection of the late Jan Bos, a Dutch camera collector. Please have a look at www.wesellyourcollection.com.
The Future of selling your own collection with you at the wheel.
We run the website “wesellyourcollection.com”. The idea is that at some point you will want to sell your collection. It dos not matter what kind of collection. It can be a model Car collection or a Camera collection or maybe a Doll collection. You know the value and items best in your collection. Make the pictures, descriptions and price the items yourself. We can put all this in a format and then on the internet site . By doing this you also make a document of what your collection was, and you can always look back on this. We can store the site until you are ready to sell or when relatives want to sell, we can set the site on active. Importantly you can price the items, and not the website. This results in a fair and transparent prices for your items.
