Canon 7 body chrome (1961) in nice condition

€130.00

The Canon 7 is a 35mm film rangefinder manufactured from September 1961 until March 1965. It takes M39 screw mount lenses and was designed to also accept the special 50mm F0.95 lens. The main concept for its design was the need for a fast rangefinder camera with the target audience of the press. However it never was a huge success at the time of release due to competition in the rangefinder sector from Leica and Nikon. In recent years however the camera has seen a significant amount of popularity due to its compatibility with the Canon 50mm F0.95 lens.

Features:

0.80x magnification viewfinder with switchable frames lines. ( 35mm, 50mm, 85mm 100mm and 135mm).

Selenium cell light meter.

ISO range from 6 to 400.

Stainless steel shutter with speeds from 1 sec to 1/1000 sec and bulb mode.

PC connector for external flash.

Design

The camera does allow for double exposures. To do so you must take your first photo and set the mode to rewind (The switch for this is located to the left of the advance leader with the shutter button on it.) You must then turn the rewind lever (located on the left of the camera) approximately 2 and a half times. Then push the advance lever all the way and take the 2nd exposure.

The shutter speed selector is located to the left of the shutter release button and also displays the ASA and ISO settings. To change the ISO setting press the small button located beneath it on the back of the camera and turn the wheel until it displays your desired speed.
