Canon Serenar 100mm F4 lens with matching finder and leather case. ( 39mm screw mount )
The 100mm medium telephoto lens was something of a specialty from Canon over the years. Other makers seemed to prefer 90mm as a medium telephoto lens ( Leica) They never made a 100mm lens for the rangefinder. But Canon with the Serenar 100mm F4 did. The first ones made from 1945 . Also beginning with the new three position viewfinder introduced on the Canon IIB at the beginning of 1949 Canon rangefinders included a viewfinder image for the 100mm focal length with out an accessory finder . Canon usually did offer a 100mm accessory finder with its lenses ) Canon introduced the 100mm F4 Serenar in 1948.
The optical construction is a simple 3 elements in 3 groups. Filter size is 34mm the total production was about 4.325 pieces.
