The VL2 was the economy model of the VL series, it lacked the fastest speed of 1/1000sec, otherwise it had all the VL attributes, including full synchronization, except for the fact that its rewind was by the VT pop-up knob rather than the crank used on the contemporary top-line models. The camera has a metal shutter curtain. And the filmback for the inlay of the film was hinged instead of sliding removal.
