Carl Zeiss “Hollywood “ Distagon T*28mm F2 was one of the two 28mm prime lenses that Carl Zeiss used to manufacture for the Contax / Yashica SLR system. Technically speaking the origins of this lenses go way back to the Rollei SL 35 system from 1970. The optical formula of the lens is based on a Carl Zeiss cinematic lens , hence the name ‘Hollywood”. The lens implements a floating element design to provide for better close-up performance. This is a very well built quality lens with all metal barrel and cams with rubberized fucus and aperture rings.
