The Contax II is an 35mm rangefinder camera release by Zeiss in 1936 and was the successor of the Contax I, this was the first camera with an rangefinder and viewfinder combined in a single window. The Contax II was the impressive response from Zeiss for the demand for 35mm “Leica type camera’s “. This demand for high quality 35mm system rangefinder cameras was bases on the increasing availability  of 35mm motion film, packed in to spools and marketed to amateurs as well as professional photographer. This was a solid made camera made with the best materials available at this period.

Description

Condition exterior :  Clean body , no dents no heavy brassing. There is a name and postal code in the bottom plate.

Condition  mechanical :  As far as we have tested it looks OK

Finder : The yellow square is a little faded,

Transport : Is smooth and counter works.

Shutter:  The shutter works on all speeds and is been lubricated. The second cutain is a little week but needs to be adjusted.

Rangefinder : We have checked it with a lens and the distance is working fine.

Self-timer:  Works OK

The back seal is replaced
