The production commenced in 1932 at camera nr 71200 and with the exception of 2 years (1941 and 1946) production was continuous until 1948 when production ceased at nr 358650. This is the first model from Leitz to include a coupled rangefinder. This was such a desirable feature that some owners return the camera to Leitz  to have a coupled rangefinder added to their camera. At first the cameras were finished in black enamel with nickel fittings. The following year they were available in chrome. The first Leica’s to be made in chrome finish. Black model II account for about 2/3 of the total production. Chrome 1/3.  This camera is made in 1936 and was produced in a batch from 300.

Model : II. No slow speeds. Rangefinder only for the 50mm lens.

Lens : Leitz Elmar 5cm f/3.5 . Chrome.

Condition exterior : Nice and clean no heavy wear, no dents.

Condition  mechanical :  In good working condition for its age.

Number :  209854

Finder : Clean and clear. Rangefinder is horizontal OK vertical a little out.

Transport : Smooth and good.

Shutter: Operates on all speeds.

Lens  :    Elmar 5cm f/3.5 chrome.

Focusing :  Smooth and accurate.

Filter mount :  No marks.

Glass :  The lens has a light haze, needs perhaps some minor cleaning

Diaphragm:  OK a little stiff ( needs to be used)
