The world’s first auto focus lens with a built-in TTL focus detecting system. The lens microcomputer instantly calculates the optimum focus from data supplied by the CCD sensor , and sets it automatically. A built-in prism splits the light coming through the lens and sends part to the focus detector array at the base of the lens. Together with the OM-30 , this lens offers fast accurate and convenient “one touch” auto focus” . It can also be used as a TTL auto focus lens with any OM camera. There are five operational modes : Single Mode (focuses and locks on the subject ). Sequence Mode ( focus continually adjusts as long as the button is pressed ) ; Power Focus Mode ( manual power focusing ) ; OFF-Mode ( for manual focus settings ) ; and battery check mode ( with electronic tone ). The precise focus action is far quicker than the manual focusing , opening up new possibilities , for example , in the following fast moving subjects with motor drive .
