Introduced in February 1967 and made primarily for the Pen FT, this lens was produced until April 1971 when the Pen F system was deleted . Records from Olympus Japan indicate 18.854 where produced. This is the widest lens in the range with seven elements in six groups construction. G Zuiko designation on the bezel , it is equivalent to 28mm on a full frame 35mm SLR. Its wide-angle configuration enables a close focus capability of some 20cm and is only bettered by the E Zuiko 38mm x3.5 macro lens at 15.6 cm. This model is fitted for Pen F and FT camera’s.
