The record data back 2 has 4 data-presetting dials allowing the photographer to record information in numerical and alphabetical symbols directly onto films.
Mounted on the OM-body in place of the standard camera back, this unit is capable of recording information such’s as the year , month and day , or other numerical and alphabetical coding in 7 digits max, directly in the lower right corner of the picture. If you set any of the four dials at blank position , you can imprint on the other dials only. If no imprinting is required , set the film indicator to the OFF position and this unit can be used as a normal camera back. It is capable of imprinting on color and B&W films.
Batteries are not included in the standard equipment. 2 silver oxide LR-44 are recommended and available with this unit. The batteries should be replaced once a year. The OM body plus Record data back 2 can be contained in the optional soft case. This unit can be connected to the FP contact , if an electronic flash is not used. Connect the unit to the X contact for use with an electronic flash. If the electronic flash does not fire in conjunction with the OM-2 , the incorrect flash prevention system built-into the camera will be activated, permitting no imprinting. For use with the OM system motor drive at high shutter speeds , connect the unit to the FP contact.
