Pentax MX chrome with SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.7 lens. (1976) Fully mechanical camera.

The Pentax MX was a 35mm SLR camera produced by Asahi optical Co during  1976 to 1985. At this period it was Pentax’s professional SLR until the production of the LX range. Internally the MX was a compact Pentax KX model, otherwise it has little in common with the later M series camera’s. The MX was designed as the mechanical sister of the Pentax ME camera. The MX was solid built , and featured a fully mechanical focal plane shutter. Only the light meter system was depending on a battery. The MX fully manual, no shutter speed priority or program settings.
