Rolleicord IV. ( 1953/1954 )
Rolleicord is a model in a long line of cameras wich started in 1933 and ended in 1977 and where produced by Franke & Heidecke and later by Rollei-werke in Braunschweig. The model IV was produced from 1953 till 1954 and about 46.500 units where built. It is a medium format TLR camera that uses 120 type roll film . 12 exposures of 6x6cm on a roll can be made. By using a optional Rolleikin 1 adapter 35mm film cartridges can be used , there was also a plate adapter available with a image size of 6.5cm x9cm.
This is the only Rolleicord model with the model Vb that has the MX synchronization. The previous models have X synchro only or none at all. The subsequent models have MXV sync except for the Vb’s.
Features: Coated lenses, bayonets on both lenses , switch witch permits double exposures.
Remarks: The Rolleicord IV was the only Rolleicord without type distinctions. There is no IVa or type 2.
