Rolleiflex 2.8 D With Planar lens. (1955-1956). with EV case

Identifiers : Unlike the C , the D has the EVS system. The button in the center of the aperture control wheel must be continuously depressed to uncouple the EVS system. By contrast a slotted device  on the E allows the EVS system to be either coupled or uncoupled. The rest is the same as the 2.8C.

This model marked the introduction of the EVS system. Subsequent models except the F use it. Therefore if a 2.8 does not have the EVS system. It is Pre-D or an F.Fs of course , are identified by the F inscribed before the serial number.
