All F models can be distinguished from other because there is a letter F in front of the serial number. Type 1 does not accept the optically flat glass provision while the subsequent types do. There fore it lacks the pressure plate release pin near the right hand film channel.
Other features : Removeable hood with sports finder, Fresnel viewing screen, No EVS system, MX synchronization and V (self-timer) controlled by the same lever MXV, Double exposure provision, baffles, exposure guide on door, coupled aperture and shutter controls. The F type introduced the feature of a cross coupled exposure meter. On previous Rolleis after operating the meter one had to set the shutter and /or apertures. This model has the Pressure plate pin on the back and will accept the optically flat glass provision.
