The Rolleiflex SLX does not feature a fully detachable, mid-roll interchangeable film magazine with a built-in dark slide (unlike the later 6006 and 6000-series models). Instead, it utilizes a hinged camera back combined with interchangeable film inserts.

Standard Film Insert

The standard insert is loaded externally and slides directly into the camera’s hinged rear door.

Film Type: Accepts both 120 and 220 roll film. Switching between formats is done via a mechanical dial on the back of the camera door.

Frame Format: 6×6 cm (actual image size is approximately 56×56 mm).

Frame Count: 12 exposures on 120 film / 24 exposures on 220 film.

Film Advance: Fully motorized and automatic. The camera automatically advances to the first frame after loading and winds the paper tail completely after the last shot.
