Topcon Automatic RIII with F. Auto-Topcor 5.8cm f/1.8 lens and external light meter.

The Topcon RIII is a heavy and robust camera made from 1961 to 1963 by Tokyo Kogaku optical. This camera is significantly larger than the competing models in this period, and very successful. This model was the third and last model in this range. It has the option to place a external light meter on the camera. Also a self-timer was added. A linkage was added on the lens mount so a automatic diaphragm eliminated the need for a extra button for this. It also was provided with interchangeable prism. The F. Auto-Topcor lens differs from the later lenses by a black finish and the distance scale is covered by a window. These where later removed and the lenses where more in chrome finish.
